The SGH Story

I believe that first impressions are so important, so I thought it might be helpful to tell you a little about myself and my company.

The SGH story began several years ago when I first became an owner in a beautiful old building, on a gorgeous tree-lined avenue just a few blocks from everything I’ve come to love about this historic area of Boston.  My inclination toward engaging my neighbors, and helping solve problems led to my involvement in the condo association, and eventually my appointment to the board.  I dove in immediately, working on ways our building could be readily improved and better managed.  I was amazed how much I enjoyed the process, not to mention the sense of pride and accomplishment I felt when a well-conceived plan came together, or a tough problem was resolved successfully.  Perhaps it was my previous management experience, my background in real estate, or maybe it was my can-do attitude, but before long my fellow board members proposed I establish my own property management firm, and take on our condo association as my first client. Well, as you can imagine, it didn’t take long to make up my mind.  SGH Property Management was born!

What began as a love affair with my home and neighborhood has evolved into what I now consider my vocation and passion.  I say this with utmost sincerity, because quite simply, I love what I do!  Yes, it’s demanding work, both challenging and diverse, and I’m very proud of the high standards we maintain, like having an “open-book” accounting policy, hiring top quality outside contractors, solving problems quickly and efficiently, and responding rapidly to a wide range of phone calls.  In short, it’s our goal to serve our clients in every way we can, and to help make their experience of “home” as pleasant and carefree as possible.

So far I can honestly say we’ve been enormously successful in meeting that fundamental goal.  Through the gracious referrals of friends and neighbors, we’ve been fortunate to welcome a number of wonderful properties to the growing SGH family.  I am grateful for the confidence so many people have placed in us.  At SGH Property Management, we live by a single guiding philosophy – to treat your home as if it were our own.  Ultimately, it’s this philosophy that sets SGH apart.  I believe in building successful relationships, founded on trust, mutual commitment and top-level service.  I choose vendors and service providers who share these values, because I know how essential they are in creating a satisfying experience for each client.
